watering system

Ok got squash up again!

I set up a second set of 1/2 barrels and expanded the water line.

This is a shot of the full set up chair in background is holding a 15 Gal. barrel that on it's side will hold about 12.
Iwill start using a miracle gro feed as soon as I can get the drip rate calabrated.

The barrel feeds directly to the dripers with a flow rate control valve (salvaged from a pool chlorinator)slowing down the flow rate.

This is a close up of the valve in the shut position will try different settings to see if I can keep things wet with out soaking them and hopefully feed them with sone fertilizer at the same time

latest and greatest

OK this is the first container garden (ever) chives survived the horse radish didn't

This is what happens when you get in a hurry to move squash outside to early,

didn't work to well.

I was blessed with some hose taps that plug directly in to the hose

The ball on the end is lead and holds the tap in the pot .

The taps are inserted in to a hole bored with an icepick and seal as the black plastic shrinks back down from the stretching caused by the pick.

I decided on using 2 taps to a bucket /15Gal. split long wise with a 1/4 inch drain hole drilled on end, this is set in front of a grill.

The 1/2 barrels are scotched with a 2x4 screwed down with deck screws.

This is the first 1/2 of a 4 planter set up.

The grid runs along the back(south)end of the house and will have the watering system installed directly above the planters.
I intend to feed the water system with a miracle grow solution on a continuous drip or may be a cyclic pattern.

quick shot of the buckes I am getting ready to receive the transplanted tomato starts.

work table full of junk LOL for now may be location of the feed tank will think about it later.

wating for the sun to get a little lower (cooler) and will try and get second set of !/2 barels finished.
Blessings Bear.
